Jonathan Scott Goldman, a seasoned strategist, trial lawyer, and appellate attorney, has over two decades of experience representing businesses, government, and individuals, in commercial disputes, administrative proceedings, and complex litigation in courts across the country.
About Jonathan
Jonathan’s broad experience has bridged the gap between the private and public sectors. As Executive Deputy Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, he ran the Civil Law Division and served as a top executive to then Attorney General Josh Shapiro, advising on and arguing key cases for the Commonwealth and the country. As a business litigation partner and leader of Blank Rome LLP’s national State Attorneys General Team, Jonathan has litigated in various jurisdictions, negotiating complex settlements, winning cases on summary judgment, and taking cases through full jury trial and appeal.

Boards
Jonathan is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and serves on its Committee for Social Responsibility. He is also Chair of its Jewish Community Relations Council (“JCRC”), which works through community relations, government affairs, social action, and advocacy, together with Jewish and non-Jewish organizations, to improve inter-group understanding and advance a just and pluralistic society.
Statewide, Jonathan serves as Chair of the Pennsylvania Jewish Coalition, a
nonpartisan, statewide organization, formed in 1981, that represents Pennsylvania’s various Jewish communities across the state before state government and with other Pennsylvanians, and works on issues of importance to these communities, including public policy initiatives, and funding and regulation of the delivery of human services. In his role as Chair, Jonathan is often called upon to speak with the media and in the community.
He also serves as the Assistant Secretary of the Abraham J. Cohen Family Charitable Foundation.
Personal
Jonathan grew up in Baltimore County, Maryland, where he attended the Gilman School. He also lived in Princeton, New Jersey; Kyongju, South Korea; Baltimore, Maryland; and Boston, Massachusetts, before settling in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. . In addition to the law, Jonathan is passionate about visual art, especially fine art photography. He is working on a book of his own photography and a memoir. He is proud of his two sons. He is a member of Congregation Beth Am Israel in Penn Valley, outside of Philadelphia, and spends a lot of time in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
